The Canary Island paradise of turquoise waters

HIGHLIGHTS

Sacred Mountain of Tindaya

Known as the "Sacred Mountain," Tindaya stands alone on the plain of Esquinzo. A place shrouded in legends where the ancient "mahos" left their mark in the form of engravings unique in the world.

POINT OF INTEREST

Sacred Mountain of Tindaya
Tindaya is a protected natural area of great archaeological value. For the ancient inhabitants (Mahos), this trachyte mountain held sacred significance. The most fascinating feature is the more than 300 foot-shaped carvings (podomorphs) found on its summit, all oriented towards Mount Teide or the islands of Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. Its pyramidal profile and the changing hues of its rock in the sunlight make it one of the most beautiful mountains in the Canary Islands.
